Are the courtyards of the mosque and what is attached to them considered part of the mosque?

The Shaykh : If it is within the perimeter of the mosque's building, then everything within this perimeter is part of the mosque. However, if it is outside the mosque's building, it is not part of the mosque.

The questioner : It is attached to the mosque, but that is not valid.

The Shaykh: Yes.

The questioner : If it is attached to the wall of the mosque, it is not part of the mosque.

The Shaykh : And entry to it is from outside the mosque, so it is not part of the mosque.

The questioner : It has two doors, a door to exit from it and a door, meaning...

The Shaykh : It is not part of the mosque unless it was endowed. Here, a distinction must be made. Unless the builder endowed it such that it is not permissible to dispose of it, just as it is not permissible to dispose of the mosque, then it is part of the mosque.
