The questioner: As for us, we prayed the Friday prayer in Irbid a while ago. An imam or shaykh from [place] came, who used to pray in Jabal Husayn. The imam was absent, so he stepped forward and established the prayer and prayed with us. He said, "I will pray two rak'ahs with you, and then you complete it." The mosque was crowded; some understood and some did not. After that, he said the closing salam and said, "Complete your prayer, for I am a traveler." Most of them cut off the prayer and said, "What did you do? What is this prayer? Who forced you to pray with us?"

The Shaykh: Poor thing, poor thing.

The questioner: He told them, "I came to teach you your religion."

The Shaykh: What Allah willed.

The questioner: I do not want you to remain ignorant; understand your religion.

The Shaykh: Heh heh, Allah.

The questioner: So now, in your opinion, if you went to Irbid, which is about eighty or eighty-five [kilometers] according to the Hanafi school, would you consider that a custom? Of course, as we know, would you consider that travel?

The Shaykh: From here to Irbid.

The questioner: To Irbid.

The Shaykh: No.

The questioner: This is what I want to ask.

The Shaykh: Our companion was in Irbid.

The questioner: I think the one who travels an hour in connected lands and does not feel that he has traveled, meaning...

The Shaykh: Continue our discussion, Abu Ahmad.
The questioner : Yes, our shaykh, please proceed.

The Shaykh: We are walking, meaning.

The questioner: Yes.
