The Salafi Da'wah's Position Regarding the Schools of Jurisprudence and Their Imams
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : The first point is: What is the position of the Salafi Da'wah regarding the schools of jurisprudence and their imams? This is the first and most important matter, as we have mentioned. The other matter is: Are there any among those who claim affiliation with the Salafi Da'wah who speak in the manner of the words the writer mentioned, attributing part of them to their great scholars and another part to their middle-tier scholars? As for the first matter, we have always and forever spoken about it, and we discussed some of it in the previous lesson; so I do not wish to lengthen the discussion. We always and forever say that this Da'wah, the Salafi Da'wah, is established upon the understanding of the Book and the Sunnah and upon the methodology of the righteous Salaf, who were in the three centuries attested to as the best in the authentic hadith, indeed in the mass-transmitted report: Sahih al-Bukhari 3651. The four Imams and others who were their contemporaries, or preceded them, or followed them by a little; all of these are among the Imams of the righteous Salaf. So we follow their example and adhere to them in this Da'wah of ours. Therefore, it is absolutely inconceivable that a man of the Salafi inclination and school would disparage an Imam among the Imams of the Muslims, or that it is inconceivable that... such a thing regarding an Imam among the Imams of the Muslims, or that he would disparage them, or that he would wish for the burning of the books of these Imams and for not benefiting from them.
The best people are those living in my generation, and then those who will follow them, and then those who will follow the latter
