The Shaykh’s note on a linguistic point, namely the occurrence of (or) with the meaning of (and).
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : In this hadith, there is a linguistic point that may be obscure to some people, which is the occurrence of "or" in place of the conjunction "and." His saying (peace be upon him) here, "or the smoke," means "and the smoke." "Or the Dajjal" means "and the Dajjal." "Or the Beast" and so on. This hadith is like the previous hadith in that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) urges the Muslims therein to hasten with righteous deeds in response to the signs of the Hour, as was explained in the previous hadith. However, this hadith details some of the signs that were not mentioned in the first hadith. He (may Allah’s prayer and peace be upon him) says: Sunan Ibn Majah 4056Hasan (Darussalam)
