Explanation of the author's (may Allah have mercy on him) statement: "And from him (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said"

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : The hadith that follows, which is also in Muslim, but in the books of trials and tribulations, and it is also narrated by Abu Hurayrah. He said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said
Hasten to do good deeds before six things happen: the rising of the sun from the west, the smoke, the Dajjal, the beast and (the death) of one of you or the general turmoil.
Sahih Muslim 2947a
Muslim narrated it. In this hadith, there is a linguistic point that may be hidden from some people, which is the occurrence of "or" in place of the coordinating conjunction "and." So his saying (peace be upon him) here "or the smoke" means "and the smoke," and "or the Dajjal" means "and the Dajjal," and so on. This hadith is like the previous hadith in that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) urges Muslims to hasten with righteous deeds before the signs of the Hour, as explained in the previous hadith. However, this hadith details some of the signs that were not mentioned in the first hadith. He (may Allah's prayer and peace be upon him) says:
Hasten to do good deeds (before) six things (happen): The rising of the sun from the west
Sunan Ibn Majah 4056Hasan (Darussalam)
The rising of the sun from the west is something mentioned in the Noble Qur'an, as is well known. On the day it rises from the west, faith will not benefit a soul that did not believe before. This undoubtedly requires a great deal of faith, especially among people who study modern science and astronomy, and who are dominated by what they call the laws of the universe or natural laws, unless Allah wills otherwise. They organize things and follow these laws, then they forget, and some of them deny, the One who established them and organized them with this wonderful organization. So the rising of the sun from the west means overturning the system of this universe, unfortunately. And this overturning is not accepted by the faith of every believer who believes in his Lord (Mighty and Majestic) and that He is the Doer of what He wills and what He intends, and the Creator as He wills and as He intends, as He (Mighty and Majestic) said:
And your Lord creates what He wills and chooses; not for them was the choice. Exalted is Allah and high above what they associate with Him.
[Al-Qasas 28:68]
In fact, the rising of the sun from the west is... the system of this universe from its origin, as mentioned in many verses of the Noble Qur'an:
(1) When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] (2) And when the stars fall, dispersing, (3) And when the mountains are removed
[At-Takwir 81:1-3]
All of this indicates that this universe, organized in this way, is dealt with by the Lord of the Worlds in a way that changes in this universe whatever He wills to change, as He said:
[It will be] on the Day the earth will be replaced by another earth, and the heavens [as well], and all creatures will come out before Allah, the One, the Prevailing.
[Ibrahim 14:48]
So the... indication of this radical change is the rising of the sun from the west. The One who raises it every day from the east is not incapable of raising it from the west, indicating that this world has ended. Therefore, the previous description came that on the day the sun rises
no soul will benefit from its faith as long as it had not believed before
[Al-An'am 6:158]
This is the first of the conditions of the Hour, which scholars have agreed to call the major signs of the Hour. So the Messenger (may the prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) says here:
Hasten to the deeds before six things, the first of which is the rising of the sun from the west.
This is because the matter at that time is serious. The sinner who does not repent before its rising will not benefit from his repentance. The disbeliever who does not repent before that will not benefit from his repentance. And so on. So here, it is obligatory to hasten to repentance with righteous deeds, and even more so, the disbelievers and hypocrites should hasten to return to their Lord and believe in their Islam before the rising of the sun from the west, or the smoke. The smoke is also one of the signs of the Hour, but we must note two things here. The first thing is that nothing significant has come in the authentic Sunnah regarding the time of this smoke, which is one of the signs of the Hour. But it appears to be a smoke that encompasses all people, meaning as if we imagine a suffocating gas from those gases that the disbelievers today display by multiplying them to terrorize their enemies. And they may imagine that if some of these bombs were thrown, it would destroy crops and offspring. So this smoke will be from Allah (Mighty and Majestic) and not by the will of any human being, like the rising of the sun from the west. So it appears that this smoke will be general and comprehensive for the people of the earth, but Allah (Mighty and Majestic) deals with the believers with special treatment, just as He deals with them on the day He permits the establishment of the Hour for the people of the earth. And it has come in the authentic hadiths that the Prophet (may Allah's prayer and peace be upon him) said:
The last hour will come only when people are wicked.
