The Shaykh : Likewise, it is obligatory for every Muslim to know the meaning of "and that Muhammad is His slave and His Messenger," this testimony that completes the first testimony. Therefore, I will now dwell on this second testimony and clarify that it is not complete unless the Muslim believes in this testimony with knowledge, faith, and firm conviction first, and then applies it in his approach to his life second. Our saying, "I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and His Messenger," necessitates, among other things, the belief that Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) conveyed the message and fulfilled the trust in its entirety and perfection, such that he left nothing for those after him, no matter how high they rise, to add to or correct. As our Lord (Mighty and Majestic) pointed to this reality in His saying, Blessed and Exalted is He: [Al-Ma'idah 5:3]
