That she is a girl who had an older sister with the same name as hers, and the sister passed away a month ago, and some people say that it is not permissible for your name to be the same

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : The questioner says: She mentions that she is a twenty-year-old girl who had an older sister with the same name as hers, and the sister passed away a month ago. Some people say that it is not permissible for your name to be the same as your deceased sister's name because you might take from her reward or she might take from your reward. Is this correct?

The Shaykh : This is not correct, and there is no harm in a man having two daughters who share the same name, or two sons who share the same name. However, it is better that there be no sharing of names so that one is not confused with the other. There is no effect of the names being the same; it has no effect on the reward. Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) is All-Knowing of everything; He knows who has such and such reward and who has such and such reward.
