Naming Oneself Subhan Allah

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa No. ( 12584 )
Q: Presented to Your Excellency is Mr. Subhan Allah Miyanqal, a Pakistani national residing in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia , in the city of Jeddah . I work as a muezzin in the Ministry of Awqaf. The Directorate of Hajj and Awqaf has objected to my name. All I ask of Your Excellency is to issue a fatwa regarding this name from an Islamic and legal perspective: is it a permissible name or not? If it is not permissible, please provide us with a document from you so that I may change my name at the passport office. We offer you our sincere thanks and gratitude.
A: You must change this name; because you are not Subhan Allah, rather Subhan Allah is a remembrance from the prescribed dhikr. It must be changed to a name that is permissible in the Shari'ah, such as Abdullah, Muhammad, and Ahmad,
and the like. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
