The Shaykh’s mention of the hadith (Indeed, Allah does not look at your appearances...)

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) also affirmed this meaning in the hadith that Imam Muslim narrated in his Sahih from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), in which he said:
Indeed, Allah does not look at your appearances or your bodies or your wealth, but He looks at your hearts and your deeds. إن الله لا ينظر إلى صوركم ولا إلى أجسادكم ولا إلى أموالكم ولكن ينظر إلى قلوبكم وأعمالكم
Here, the deed is connected to the heart, and as is clear to you, the source of the deed is the body. So he (peace be upon him) said: “Indeed, Allah does not look at these appearances of a beautiful body and abundant wealth, but rather He looks at the righteous deed and the righteous heart. He looks at your hearts and your deeds.” So the place of Allah’s (Mighty and Majestic) gaze is the heart. As for the body, if it is good, it is good, and if it is bad, it is bad. All these hadiths affirm that the Shari'ah commands the rectification of the outward appearance and the heart, which is an inward matter, and upon this the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) based his conduct.
