Explanation of the words of Imam al-Nawawi (may Allah have mercy on him) regarding what he quoted: "

The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful:
The author (may Allah have mercy on him) stated, in what he quoted from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), that he said: And in another wording: : This hadith indicates what the statement of Allah the Exalted indicates: [Al-Hujurat 49:13] , so Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) does not look at the servants, at their bodies, whether they are large or small, healthy or sick, nor does He look at their appearances, whether they are beautiful or ugly? No, all of this is of no account with Allah. Likewise, He does not look at lineages, whether they are noble or lowly, nor does He look at wealth, nor does He look at anything of this ever. There is no connection between Allah the Exalted and His creation except through taqwa (mindfulness of Allah). So whoever is more mindful of Allah is closer to Allah and more honorable in the sight of Allah.
So do not boast of your wealth, nor your beauty, nor your body, nor your children, nor your palaces, nor your cars, nor anything of this worldly life ever. Rather, if Allah grants you success in taqwa (mindfulness of Allah), that is from the favor of Allah upon you, so thank Allah for it. He said:Sahih Muslim 2564c : So the hearts are the basis upon which things turn. This supports the hadith with which the author began the book: . The hearts are the basis upon which things turn. How many people have an outward appearance of their work that is valid, good, and righteous, but when it is built upon ruin, it becomes ruin. Intention is the foundation. You will find two men praying in the same row behind the same imam, and the difference between their prayers is like the distance between the East and the West. Why? Because the heart of one of them is heedless, or perhaps he is showing off in his prayer, and I seek refuge in Allah, seeking the world with it. The other has his heart present, seeking the Face of Allah with his prayer and following the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). So there is a great difference between them. Knowledge is of what is in the heart, and the reward on the Day of Resurrection is based on what is in the heart, as Allah the Exalted said: [At-Tariq 86:8-9] : The hidden matters are tested, what are the outward appearances? In this world, judgment among people is based on the outward appearance, due to the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): , but in the Hereafter, knowledge is of what is in the hidden matters—may Allah purify our hidden matters and yours—knowledge is of what is in the hidden matters. If the hidden matter is good and sound, then rejoice in good. And if the other is lacking, it has lost all good. And Allah the Exalted said: [Al-'Adiyat 100:9-10] : So knowledge is of what is in the heart. And if Allah the Exalted in His Book, and His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) in his Sunnah, emphasize the rectification of intention, then it is obligatory for the person to rectify his intention, to rectify his heart, to look at what is in his heart of doubt and remove this doubt to certainty. How? If a person says, if there is doubt in him, how can there be certainty? He looks at the verses, he looks at the verses: [Ali 'Imran 3:190] , [Al-Jathiyah 45:3] ,
And in your creation and in what He scatters of moving creatures are signs for a people who are certain. You should look at the signs of Allah. If Satan casts doubt into your heart, look at the signs of Allah. Look at this universe, look at who manages it, look at how conditions change, and how Allah alternates the days among people, so that you know that this universe has a Manager who is Wise, Mighty and Majestic. As for shirk (associating partners with Allah), purify your heart from shirk. How do I purify my heart from shirk? I purify my heart by saying to myself: People will not benefit me; if I disobey Allah, they will not save me from punishment, and if I obey Allah, they will not bring me reward. Who brings you reward? It is Allah. Who averts punishment from you? It is Allah. If that is the case, why do you associate partners with Allah, Mighty and Majestic? Why do you intend with your worship to draw near to the creation? For this reason, whoever draws near to the creation with what he draws near to Allah with, Allah distances Himself from him and the creation distances itself from him. That is to say, his drawing near to the creation with what brings him near to Allah only increases his distance from Allah and from the creation. For when Allah is pleased with you, He makes people pleased with you, and when He is angry with you, He makes people angry with you. We seek refuge in Allah from His anger and His punishment. The important thing, my brother, is to treat the heart. Treat the heart constantly. Be constantly engaged in washing the heart until it is purified, as Allah the Exalted said: Those are the ones whom Allah did not intend to purify their hearts. Allah did not intend to purify their hearts. So purifying the heart is a very important matter. I ask Allah to purify my heart and your hearts, and to make us sincere to Him and followers of His Messenger. The student: Amen.
The author (may Allah have mercy on him) stated, in what he quoted from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), that he said:
Indeed, Allah does not look at your appearances and your bodies, but He looks at your hearts
إن الله لا ينظر إلى صوركم وأجسامكم ولكن ينظر إلى قلوبكمyour hearts and your deeds
O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you
So do not boast of your wealth, nor your beauty, nor your body, nor your children, nor your palaces, nor your cars, nor anything of this worldly life ever. Rather, if Allah grants you success in taqwa (mindfulness of Allah), that is from the favor of Allah upon you, so thank Allah for it. He said:

(8) Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able. (9) The Day when secrets will be put on trial,
I only judge according to what I hear.

Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth and the alternation of the night and the day are signs for those of understanding.
Indeed, within the heavens and earth are signs for the believers.
