The Shaykh’s explanation of the deviations committed by the Tabligh group and his advice to them regarding them
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : I am speaking today about this departure, and I am arguing from the Sunnah. I am speaking based on a principle that I have stated and repeated: that Muslims do not differ on this at all. The best guidance is the guidance of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). The people in the time of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) were in greater need of knowledge than the Muslims of our time today. Why? Because he was surrounded by disbelievers. So he would send a man who was a scholar from among them, and he would not send with him fifteen companions who knew nothing; rather, they would learn from the scholars present in each of their lands. As you know, I think, he sent Mu'adh alone, he sent Abu Musa al-Ash'ari alone, he sent Ali, he sent Abu Ubaydah ibn al-Jarrah, he sent Dhihyyah, and so on. We did not find, may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him, that during his blessed life he ever sent with a scholar from the Companions any people who were not scholars. Where to? What is there in Yemen? There is nothing but shirk (associating partners with Allah) and kufr (disbelief). So imagine that there is a need. The need existed in the time of the Messenger, may peace be upon him.
