Some Christians say that Allah is the third of three, and Allah says in the Qur'an

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Some of the Christians say "the third of three," and our Lord, Glorified and Exalted is He, says in the Book:
And do not say, "Three"; desist - it is better for you. Indeed, Allah is but one God ولا تقولوا ثالث ثلاثة انتهوا خيرا لكم إنما الله إله واحد
[An-Nisa 4:171]
We gave them this verse. Did they accept it? If they did not accept it, is there another proof we can give them, or should we leave them to their own devices?

The Shaykh : If they are not convinced by the statement of the Lord of the Worlds, by whose statement will they be convinced?

The questioner : They will not be convinced.

The Shaykh : By whose statement will they be convinced?

The questioner : They will not be convinced.

The Shaykh : Then they are disbelievers.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh :
They have certainly disbelieved who say, "Allah is the third of three." لقد كفر الذين قالوا إن الله ثالث ثلاثة
[Al-Ma'idah 5:73]

The questioner : Yes

The Shaykh :
And there is no god but the One God. وما من إله إلا إله واحد
Al-Mustadrak lil-Hakim 26:21

The questioner : Yes

The Shaykh : If they are not convinced by the speech of Allah, Mighty and Majestic, they will not be convinced by the speech of the servants of Allah, Mighty and Majestic.

The questioner : Yes, that is right.

The Shaykh : The problem with these people is that they disbelieved in the Messenger of Allah.

The questioner : (peace and blessings be upon him).

The Shaykh : The one who, by the explicit text of the Noble Qur'an and the authentic hadiths, was sent as a mercy to the worlds. It was incumbent upon them to study the life of the Messenger (peace be upon him) and how Allah, through him, saved the Arabs in the pre-Islamic age of ignorance from darkness to light and from misguidance to guidance. But they turned away from studying the Messenger (peace be upon him) and his life and the reform he effected among his people, and they clung to the Torah and the Gospel, which time has consumed and devoured.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : Do not argue with these people as long as they have not believed in this explicit verse; is there anything else?

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : Huh?

The questioner : This is...
Another questioner: The messengers were the most perfect in the oneness of Allah.

The Shaykh : Very well.

The questioner : And the messengers who were the most perfect in the oneness of Allah were the men of resolve, and the most perfect...

The Shaykh : We do not have the details for that; get to the question.
