What is your opinion of a scholar who calls people to the Sufi paths?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner: Now, oh Shaykh, regarding...

The Shaykh : This is one who has no knowledge; he has no knowledge. For knowledge dictates that the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) was sitting among his Companions when he drew a straight line and drew short lines around this straight line. Then he recited the saying of Allah the Exalted:
And, [moreover], this is My path, which is straight, so follow it; and do not follow [other] ways, for you will be separated from His way
[Al-An'am 6:153]
, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) clarified by saying:
This is the path of Allah, and these are the ways, and on every one of these ways is a Shaytan calling people to it هذا صراط الله ، وهذه الطُّرق ، وعلى كلِّ صراط منها شيطان يدعو الناس إليه
. This is the scholar who says: "Such-and-such a path, such-and-such a path!" And the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) says: "One path!" This is not a scholar, but people imagine him to be a scholar; they say of him: "He is a scholar."
