Is it recommended to kiss the Noble Qur'an?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Do you think it is recommended, is it mustahabb to kiss the Noble Qur'an?
Of course, you will find people saying: Yes, my brother, this is honoring the speech of Allah, and so on. We say: No. Honoring the speech of Allah is by following it, not by kissing its pages or decorating its leaves. In reality, this is something by which Satan adorns things for the children of Adam, diverting them from what is important to what is not important at all. He convinces them that your respect and honoring of the Qur'an is sufficient if you kiss it.
There are many examples of this in our lives today. I see, while walking on the road, that we are afflicted by passing by— for example—a coffee shop with chess, billiards, and the forbidden dice, and so on. The first thing some of them do—not all of them, some of them—when they hear the adhan is that they stand up. What is this standing? Honoring, my brother, the majesty of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) and the adhan which contains tawhid in the two testimonies, and so on!! Satan has convinced them that this standing excuses them from going to the mosque. "Hey, it is honoring, and the matter is done," whereas the true honoring is when you hear him saying: Allahu Akbar; you are not in a state of wudu'; you rush off. You hear him later, and you are in a state of wudu', saying: Hayya 'ala al-salah; you actually go and pray with the congregation of the Muslims. This is the true honoring of this adhan. So Satan has diverted these Muslims from this honoring that the Master of the Messengers brought to a formal, superficial honoring. And this can be applied to most, if not all, of what people have innovated after the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him).
