The Shaykh : Among the matters related to the Dajjal and his description is that Allah has forbidden him from entering Makkah and al-Madinah, and he is unable to enter them. All these characteristics indicate to one who examines them that he is a created person. Nevertheless, you will find many writers, both ancient and modern, and especially today, who deny this reality which the mass-transmitted reports have agreed upon to establish. They say that the Dajjal is not a person, but rather a symbol of the greatest evil that appears and spreads throughout the lands in the end times. This claim was made by these writers before by the aforementioned Dajjal, Mirza Ghulam Ahmad al-Qadiyani. He claimed that the Dajjal is evil and not a human being. He also claimed, regarding the hadiths that do not accept figurative interpretation concerning the descent of 'Isa (peace be upon him), that it is not the descent of the person of 'Isa, but rather means the descent of goodness and peace, and similar attributes that correspond to the evil symbolized by the Dajjal.
