Uttering a curse

Question: What is the ruling on one who utters a word containing a curse against a specific person?

Answer: It is not permissible to utter curses, insults, and abuse, or to belittle people,Allah the Exalted said:
and do not call each other by [offensive] nicknamesوَلَا تَنَابَزُوا بِالْأَلْقَابِ
[Al-Hujurat: 11] ,And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Cursing a believer is like killing himلعن المؤمن كقتله
،And he said:
The believer does not insult the honor of others, nor curse, nor commit Fahishah, nor is he foul.
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 1977Hasan (Darussalam)
.
So the believer guards his tongue from uttering insults and abuse, and the most severe of these is cursing. If a curse is issued by him toward one who does not deserve it, it returns to him, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) informed us. Therefore, it is not permissible for the believer to use cursing, neither against humans, nor against animals, nor against dwellings, nor anything else, for this is a vile and ugly word that does not befit a Muslim.
[Backbiting]

Question: What is the authenticity of what is narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that the expiation for backbiting is to seek forgiveness for the one you backbitten, saying:
Allahummaghfirlanaa wa lahu
Sunan an-Nasa'i 1825Sahih (Darussalam)
, and what is the meaning of backbiting?

Answer: As for the hadith, nothing comes to my mind about it right now, and I do not know about it.
And as for backbiting in itself, it is forbidden, a major one of the major sins, and Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) has forbidden His servants from engaging in it,Allah the Exalted said:
or backbite each other. Would one of you like to eat the flesh of his brother when dead? You would detest it. And fear Allah; indeed, Allah is Accepting of repentance and Merciful.
[Al-Hujurat: 12] .And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
The whole of the Muslim is sacred to his fellow Muslim, his blood, his wealth and his honor.
Sunan Ibn Majah 3933Sahih (Darussalam)
, so backbiting is forbidden, a major one of the major sins, and vile. So what is backbiting?
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) explained its meaning when he was asked about it,So he said:
Backbiting is mentioning your brother with what he dislikes. He said: What do you think if there is in my brother what I say? He said: If there is in him what you say, then you have backbitten him, and if there is not in him what you say, then you have slandered himالغيبة ذكرك أخاك بما يكره.
.

And backbiting is: It is speech, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) explained:
It is saying something about your brother which he would dislike
Sunan Abi Dawud 4874Sahih (Al-Albani)
. So if your brother is absent, and you spoke about him and described him with what he dislikes, then you have backbitten him, you have spoken about him, and you have committed a great sin in that. And if you regret and repent to Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He), then the door of repentance is open. But this is a right of a created being, and among the conditions of repentance for it is that you seek forgiveness from the person. So you must contact your brother and mention
to him that, and ask him for forgiveness, unless you fear that informing him will result in a greater harm. In that case, it may suffice that you seek forgiveness for him, and that you speak well of him, and praise him for what he has, so that perhaps Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) will forgive you.
