The ruling on one who claims that the Messenger of Allah knows the unseen

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q215: The questioner asks: Does the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) know the unseen?
A215: No one knows the unseen except Allah. As for the Messenger, he does not know of the unseen except what Allah has revealed to him. Allah the Exalted said:
(26) [He is] Knower of the unseen, and He does not disclose His [knowledge of the] unseen to anyone (27) Except whom He has approved of messengers, and indeed, He sends before each messenger and behind him observersعَالِمُ الْغَيْبِ فَلاَ يُظْهِرُ عَلَى غَيْبِهِ أَحَدًا (26) إِلاَّ مَنِ ارْتَضَى مِنْ رَسُولٍ فَإِنَّهُ يَسْلُكُ مِنْ بَيْنِ يَدَيْهِ وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِ رَصَدًا
[Al-Jinn 72:26-27]
So Allah reveals to him some of the unseen as a miracle for him and as proof for him, and there is benefit in that for him and for his Ummah. Otherwise, no one knows the unseen except Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He). Whoever claims that anyone knows the unseen other than Allah is a disbeliever and an apostate from the religion of Islam. We ask Allah for safety. Whether he claims that he himself knows the unseen, or someone claims that for him, the one making the claim is declared a disbeliever.
