If a man pledges allegiance to a group or organization and wants to go to jihad, but the group prevents him, is he allowed to disobey them?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : A person belongs to an Islamic organization, and his commander told him: Do not go to Afghanistan, because we are planning to establish jihad here, for example. So, does he listen and obey, or does he disobey him and go?

The Shaykh : Who ordered him?

The questioner : He pledged allegiance to him.

The Shaykh : Who ordered this commander?

The questioner : For example, an organization like the Muslim Brotherhood.

The Shaykh : Do not deviate from the answer, may Allah forgive you.

The questioner : Who ordered him? I mean, the organization ordered him.

The Shaykh : This commander, who ordered him? Who made him a commander?

The questioner : The organization appointed him as commander over this person.

The Shaykh : The organization, and is the organization part of Islam?

The questioner : The organization, as we believe, is part of Islam.

The Shaykh : You know that there is a commander here, and a commander there, and a commander there, is that not so?

The questioner: Yes.

The Shaykh : Okay, and in your opinion, are these commanders in agreement or in disagreement?

The questioner : The commanders are originally supposed to be in agreement on one goal.

The Shaykh : Deviate, deviate, deviate from the answer, from the door of one who deviates.

The questioner : In reality, they are different.

The Shaykh : I am asking you about the reality: are they in agreement or in disagreement?

The questioner : They are in disagreement.

The Shaykh : So if they are in disagreement, will their orders be in agreement or in disagreement?

The questioner : In disagreement.

The Shaykh : And if their orders are in disagreement, will they be in agreement or in disagreement?

The questioner : In disagreement.

The Shaykh : And our Lord says:
and do not be of those who associate others with Allah (32) [Or] of those who have divided their religion and become sects, every faction rejoicing in what it has. ولا تكونوا من المشركين من الذين فرقوا دينهم وكانوا شيعًا كل حزبٍ بما لديهم فرحون
[Ar-Rum 30:31-32]
Therefore, I say it frankly to you, the existing organizations today are among the causes that increased the weakness of the Muslims and their division, in that they
they think that they are doing well in work." يحسبون أنهم يحسنون صنعا
[Al-Kahf 18:104]
. And if you know this premise, which is a premise for a conclusion, which is your answer: do not obey any of these commanders; because they are not legitimate commanders, and they do not have obedience over you like the obedience of the Caliph, who, if he orders you to do something whose origin is permissible, it becomes an individual obligation for you to execute. As for these commanders, if each of them claims that he is the Caliph and is pledged to by the Muslims, then the one who pledged first is looked at, and the other is killed. This is a known text in Sahih Muslim:
When oath of allegiance has been taken for two caliphs, kill the one for whom the oath was taken later. إذا بويع لخليفتين فاقتلوا آخرهما
Sahih Muslim 1853
So, my brother, if the organizations are of this nature that we have explained, they are not part of Islam in any way. As for a normal organization, for example, a man who is a scholar in one of the sciences of the Shari'ah, organizes lessons, but does not prevent any of those who attend his lessons from attending the lessons of other scholars, or for example, a man who was given knowledge like what you referred to in training on the use of weapons, there is no objection to him having organized times for teaching and instruction, but on the condition that he does not lead them and impose his opinions on them, saying "Do not go to so-and-so and so-and-so," and so on, so that he and his group form a single block. This is completely contrary to Islam.
