Mentioning some of the influence of disbelievers on Muslims in their morals, behavior, and beliefs.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner: His EminenceThe Shaykh : There are facts about the reality of Muslims in Australia specifically, and in the West generally, that are known only to those who have lived in those lands and engaged in da'wah (calling to Islam).

The Shaykh : Correct.

The questioner : The children of Muslims are on a path either to becoming Jews or Christians. This is because, first, they are taught and raised by Jews and Christians in schools for five days a week, at a rate of eight hours every day.

The Shaykh: Allahu Akbar.

The questioner : The education is mixed. Pornographic films are shown to them in their schools. Swimming is also mixed. Their companions are Jews and Christians. If you asked them about their belief in Isa (peace be upon him), they would answer with the words of the Christians that he was crucified and that he is the son of Allah, as they see it on television screens. If you asked them about the origin of man, they would tell you it is a monkey, as they learned. If you asked them about the prophets, by Allah, they know nothing about them except Isa, Musa, and Ibrahim, whom they mention on television screens in Australia. If you asked them about the Day of Resurrection, they know only its name, but they know nothing about what is in it.

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : If you asked them about the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), some of them do not know that he is a prophet, and some of them said to me, "Did the Messenger of Allah die?"

The Shaykh: Allahu Akbar.

The questioner : By Allah, the reality there is dangerous and very, very painful.

The Shaykh: Indeed.

The questioner : If you asked them about the punishment of the grave, they do not believe in it, because in the Australian cemetery, some of the dead are burned on Friday. So they asked, "How can Allah (Mighty and Majestic) punish them when they have been burned?" So they do not believe in it.

The Shaykh: Allahu Akbar.

The questioner : This is in addition to their complete loyalty to them, in addition to their election and their rule over us, and the da'wah to them. It means a very painful reality.

The Shaykh : These are facts. May Allah reward you. I mean, whoever does not know them, it is implied by the mere emigration of Muslims to the lands of disbelief, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said when he said:
The Muslim and the polytheist do not share the same fire.

The questioner: Yes.

The Shaykh : This means that he sees that there is great and severe evil in the proximity of a Muslim and a disbeliever, mere proximity. So what do you think if he resides in their lands and lives their life? Also, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said in the authentic hadith:
The companion of the righteous is like the seller of musk: either he gives you some, or you buy from him, or you smell a pleasant scent from him. And the companion of the wicked is like the blacksmith: either he burns your clothes, or you smell a foul odor from him.
So harm must occur, even if it is a small percentage, to the Muslim who associates with the polytheists and mixes with them, as he (peace be upon him) said:
Whoever mixes with the polytheist is like him
And the hadith of the man who killed ninety-nine souls, as he (peace be upon him) said.
Abu Layla : What is the meaning of "associating" (mu'asarah)?

The Shaykh : How? It means mixing, I mean. He (peace be upon him) said:
He came to him and said to him, "I have killed a hundred souls without right. Is there repentance for me?" He answered him, "What prevents you from it? You have repentance, but you are..."
But it is very clear from the context of the story, and it is from the authentic stories of the Israelites, because the Messenger spoke about it first, and then the authors of the authentic books narrated it second, like al-Bukhari and Muslim. It appears from the details of this story that this man was truly sincere and wanted to repent, but he wanted someone to guide him to the way of sincere repentance. So he continued to ask about the most knowledgeable person on earth, and this time he was directed to a scholar.
...in a bad land, so leave it to such-and-such a land whose people are righteous. So he left his village.
And here is the point:
in a bad land, so go out from it to such-and-such a land whose people are righteous, so he left his village
And this indicates his eagerness for repentance, because when he heard the answer from the advising scholar, he did not say, as people say today, "My brother, I am forced and life has become narrow for me in the land of Islam, so I want to go to the lands of disbelief." He did not say any of that at all. Rather, he immediately left the village where he lived and was raised and where he had corrupted things, to the village whose people are righteous. And here death came to him, and the angels of mercy and the angels of punishment differed over who would take his soul. So Allah (Mighty and Majestic) sent a judgment to them: "Look at which of the two villages he was closer to, and assign him to its people." So they measured the distance between him and each of the two villages and found him closer to the village whose people are righteous by the amount a person leans during his walk, because a person does not walk like this. So the angels of mercy took charge of him. If this man, the scholar, said, "You are in a bad land, so leave it," what about the Muslims today who emigrate from the lands of Islam to the lands of disbelief, which are all open sinfulness, lewdness, and corruption in belief, corruption in behavior, corruption in morals, in transactions, in everything, as you described? And ask an expert about it.

The questioner : And this is a little of much. Therefore, our last sermon was that we said to them: It is not permissible for a Muslim to reside in the lands of disbelief with the intention of living there.

The Shaykh : This is correct.

The questioner : Except if it is with the intention of da'wah (calling to Islam), and he lives alone and his family is not with him.

The Shaykh : This is correct.

The questioner : Because the children, by Allah, are on a path of being lost.

The Shaykh : Allahu Akbar. We heard that there are people in America, so-and-so, his name is George ibn Muhammad?

The questioner : Yes, they changed their names. And the Afghans went to Australia before us, and their children now do not know any religion.
