The Shaykh’s explanation of partisanship.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Yes, so I say that regarding partisanship, whether in your country or elsewhere, it is not prescribed in Islam, because it divides the Muslim community and turns the single community, which is the Muslim one, into two groups, other parties, and other factions. This is the cause of weakness.
and do not be of those who associate others with Allah (32) [Or] of those who have divided their religion and become sects, every faction rejoicing in what it has. ولا تكونوا من المشركين من الذين فرقوا دينهم وكانوا شيعا كل حزب بما لديهم فرحون
[Ar-Rum 30:31-32]
As for this grouping and this partisanship, if it followed the path of education...

The questioner : Come here, Shaykh, our Shaykh.

The Shaykh : Where is this Algerian? ... If this grouping did not take on a political character, but rather a religious, educational, and upbringing character, there would be great good in it. But before the person responsible for this large group to educate them, guide them, and raise them with Islamic upbringing stirred up their enthusiasm against the disbeliever ruler, or at least the open sinner, by stirring up the enthusiasm of these people, he is thereby stirring up the enthusiasm of these disbelievers in return. And when that happens, an explosion is bound to occur. We consider this explosion to be purely material. As for the rulers, it is clear that they are defending their thrones and their rule by other than what Allah has revealed. As for those people, their enthusiasm is not based on the principles of Islamic upbringing. In reality, as is observed in many countries, you would think their hearts are all different, because they have not been raised with Islamic upbringing. Therefore, the first clash that occurs between them and those rulers will cause their gathering to fall apart. And at that time, a person will not care for anything but himself. What is the reason? There is no Islamic upbringing. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) spent thirteen years in Makkah, as is well known, teaching people and calling them to the oneness of Allah, but there was no gathering, organization, or arrangement until Allah permitted him to migrate to al-Madinah. There, the political gathering began, and he had chosen supporters from the senior Companions whom he had raised under his own eye and raised as he wished. Therefore, Allah gave them victory, despite their small number, over the disbelievers, despite their large number. Today, it is exactly the opposite. There is no doubt that these six million are more in number than the supporters of the state, but the state may be more in number, and they may not be able to withstand it due to the lack of correct Islamic upbringing along with correct Islamic jurisprudence. I have probably answered your question... Is there anything else?

The questioner : No, there is nothing else.
