Is a man pure after emitting semen?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Seven: Is a man pure after emitting semen?

The Shaykh : Yes, there is no evidence regarding the ritual impurity of semen, and the original ruling for things is purity. This is supported by what is established in the Sunnah regarding the methods of purifying clothing from semen. There are three scenarios: if it is wet, then it is either washed or scraped off. There is no doubt that scraping does not completely remove the trace of this fluid from the clothing like washing with water does; rather, it leaves traces, whether few or many, depending on the thickness of the fabric and its weave, whether it absorbs or repels. As for when the semen is dry, that is the third and final scenario: the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would rub it off rather than wash it, and he would suffice with rubbing. These three types of cleaning clothing from semen are practical evidence supporting the legal principle, which is that the original ruling for things is purity.
