Q: Is the semen from which man is created impure or not? If it is not impure, what is the wisdom behind the full ritual bath? And is delaying the full ritual bath until morning in winter, out of fear of the cold, considered forbidden?
A: Praise be to Allah alone, and blessings and peace be upon His Messenger, his family, and his Companions. After that: The correct view is that semen is pure. If it comes out of a person in a gush with pleasure, through intercourse, wet dreams, or the like, it is obligatory for him to perform the full ritual bath. It is permissible to delay it until dawn, and he must perform the full ritual bath for the Fajr prayer at its time. It is not permissible to delay it until the time of the prayer has passed. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send blessings and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
