Is returning from Afghanistan for any reason considered turning one’s back on the advance?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Is returning from Afghanistan for any reason considered turning one’s back on the advance?

The Shaykh : If the reason is first, originating from himself, and second, he is not compelled to it, then it is fleeing. But if it is as is rumored and said, that the commanders there say, “We are not in need of men now, but rather we are in need of money,” then the one who went to jihad in the path of Allah the Exalted and Glorified remains as they say in our region in Syria, “he is leaning on the walls.” He did not go for this purpose; he went to fight. So if he does not find a path or an opportunity to fight in the path of Allah, and he asks the commander responsible for him for permission, and the commander grants it to him, then the matter is situational and personal. So I do not see it as fleeing.
