Clarification that it is obligatory to adhere to the methodology of the Salaf.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : If we have become clear on the reality of the Salafi call, and that it is belonging to the righteous Salaf, who are protected from falling into error, then in my belief, it is not merely that one should not stop accepting this designation, but rather it is not permissible to stop belonging to it, because it is the truth, just as you speak. As for what you mentioned at the end of your speech, that there may be among those who belong to Salafism people from the general Muslim public, we have said there is nothing wrong with that, because this does not mean a contradiction to what some say, nor does it mean that I understand the Book and the Sunnah while he knows nothing of knowledge, as they say in our region in Syria: "He does not know the letter 'alif' from..." or in the north they say: "He does not know the five from the ten" and so on. So whoever is at this level of ignorance, it is sufficient for him to just affiliate, just as if he said, "I am a Hanafi," but he knows nothing of the Hanafi school except what the Hanafi scholars who issue rulings for him tell him. So it is even more fitting, and more fitting, that the Muslim be Salafi in inclination and methodology, even if he is unable to know what the righteous Salaf were upon except through the path of the people of knowledge. And that is what is stated in the Noble Qur'an:
So ask the people of the message if you do not know. فاسألوا أهل الذكر إن كنتم لا تعلمون
[An-Nahl 16:43]
This is what came to my mind in answer to your question, and I do not know if I have missed anything in the answer.
