Meaning of the Hadith: Take your rituals from me

Question: What is the meaning of the saying of the Noble Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him):
Take your rituals from meخذوا عني مناسككم
, and what is the description of the Farewell Pilgrimage of the Noble Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him)?

Answer: As for his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
Take your rituals from meخذوا عني مناسككم
,Its meaning is: it is obligatory for the pilgrim to follow the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in the acts of Hajj by learning the actions of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) that he performed in Hajj and his words, and to follow him in that,This is the meaning of his saying:
Take your rituals from meخذوا عني مناسككم
, meaning learn from us the rulings of your Hajj and 'Umrah, so do as I do. This is an address to those who were with him and to those who come after him until the Day of Resurrection. Therefore, it is obligatory for every pilgrim or one performing 'Umrah to follow the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in performing the rites. The
Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) used to observe the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and follow him. As for those who come after them, they must act according to the authentic hadiths regarding the description of the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) Hajj and act in accordance with them.
If one is unable to do so, he should ask the people of knowledge about the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) so that they may inform him and explain it to him,This is the meaning of his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
Take your rituals from meخذوا عني مناسككم
. This is evidence that the acts of Hajj are based on divine legislation, like all other types of worship. They are based on divine legislation, so one should not perform any of them unless it is established in the Book and the Sunnah that it is prescribed and that it is an act of worship.
As for the description of the Farewell Pilgrimage, its description is long. However, the reader should review the hadiths that were narrated regarding the description of the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) Hajj. The greatest of these is the hadith of Jabir, the famous long hadith in which he described the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) Hajj from its beginning to its end.
