What is the ruling on gold rings?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Regarding gold rings, what is the most correct opinion on the matter?

The Shaykh : What was mentioned in "Adab al-Zafaf" (Etiquette of the Wedding)? Have you read it?

The questioner : There is a difference of opinion regarding it.

The Shaykh : You asked and were answered about the most correct opinion, and now you say there is disagreement? If there were no disagreement, you would not have asked about the most correct opinion.

The questioner : Currently, I want, if Allah wills, the most correct opinion.

The Shaykh : Have you read "Adab al-Zafaf" or not?

The questioner : Not yet.

The Shaykh : The most correct opinion is the saying of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him):
Whoever loves to encircle his beloved with a collar of fire, let him encircle him with a collar of gold. Whoever loves to adorn his beloved with a bracelet of fire, let him adorn him with a bracelet of gold. Whoever loves to put a ring on his beloved’s finger made of fire, let him put a ring on his finger made of gold. As for silver, play with it, play with it, play with it.
. This is the most correct opinion; it is the saying of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), which is not permissible to contradict.
