Continuation of the discussion on the issue of fasting on Saturday

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to fast one day and break the fast the next, that does not mean he did not receive the reward for that fasting which he did not perform. We can believe even more than that: it is possible that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) broke his fast on a day, he received the reward for fasting that day. Why? Because he broke his fast for a legitimate Shari'ah purpose, which is to clarify the Shari'ah for the Ummah. We follow our Prophet (peace be upon him). And here is the point: when it comes to fasting one of the days mentioned earlier—Monday, Thursday, Ashura, 'Arafah, or one of the white days—and it happens to fall on a Saturday, we leave off fasting on that Saturday because of this hadith. We hope that Allah will record for us the reward of fasting that day, even though we did not fast it. I think you have never heard this statement before; hear it today. In the end times, we hope that Allah will record for us the fasting of Ashura or 'Arafah which we did not fast. Why? Because it fell on a Saturday. What has led you to this hope in the bounty of Allah (Mighty and Majestic)? My knowledge that the scholars say that the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) fasted and broke the fast, prayed or did not pray, and his reward is recorded for him because it is a clarification of the Shari'ah. We say that when we break our fast on a Saturday and it coincides with one of those virtuous days, we desire from Allah and hope in His bounty that He will record for us the fasting of that day, even though we did not fast it. The previous evidence is an inferential proof, and many people may not understand it, but I will bring a detailed proof that is exactly what we are discussing, which is his saying (peace be upon him)
Whoever leaves something for Allah, Allah will replace it with something better من ترك شيئا لله عوضه الله خيرا منه
. When we leave off fasting the day of 'Arafah or Ashura because it coincides with Saturday, why? Because the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) said
apart from days when you are obliged to fast إلا فيما افترض عليكم
Sunan Ibn Majah 1726Hasan (Darussalam)
. And this is not obligatory, so we left it off for the sake of Allah. If Allah compensates us with something better, I think you have received the answer, and it is multiplied, and it is not a loss.
Al-Halabi: Yes, may Allah reward you with good.

The Shaykh : And you as well.
