The questioner : May Allah reward you, O honorable one.The Shaykh .
The Shaykh : Welcome.
The questioner : They have two questions. The first question is: Does the methodology fall under the chapter of creed or the chapter of rulings? Part of the question is that these are da'wah methodologies that fall under the discussion of the schism.
The Shaykh : We are not concerned with the answer to this question. The terminological matters that have arisen and continue to arise, especially in this time, I say as he (peace and blessings be upon him) said in the hadith of the necessary sermon that I mentioned earlier, in which the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said:Al-Mustadrak lil-Hakim 31:7 And in another narration: Al-Mustadrak lil-Hakim 31:7 If there are means that the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) has specified for the Ummah and commanded them to adopt or encouraged them to adopt, it is not permissible for us to invent new means in place of them, even if these means are from permissible matters. However, we adopt them as a means to call the Ummah to Islam in general, or to the details of Islam that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) brought. We know that new concepts have emerged in this time, which they adopted to bring people closer to Islam, and they adopted these means as if they were goals to be adhered to, claiming that they bring them closer to Allah. They adopt, for example, modern games with which the lands of disbelief are afflicted, because they are the primary targets of such things, as He (Blessed and Exalted is He) said: [Al-A'raf 7:51] So some Muslims followed the path of these people, who were made to find these new games attractive, which came to us from the lands of disbelief, where they have no religion except amusement and play. Some of those who belong to some Islamic parties adopted them as means to bring the youth closer to Islam, from which they have unfortunately become completely distant. This was not from the guidance of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family); rather, his guidance was to call the youth, the elders, and all people to the worship of Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) and to His oneness, having no partner, and to remind them that there is another life, either eternal bliss or Hellfire and blazing flame, according to the good deed or the bad deed, as He (the Exalted) said: meaning Paradise, [Al-Layl 92:8-9] and it is Hell. Thus, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) used to remind his Companions of Paradise and the Fire, and he made that a means to bring them closer to the worship of Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He)...
