He spoke about those who want to regulate birth control out of fear of poverty.

The Shaykh : This is an example of what we said earlier: that this dislike may disappear and diminish, and we said that, on the other hand, it may increase and increase until it enters the category of prohibition. Where does the prohibition here come from? It comes from various aspects, the strongest of which is what we hear from many people, Muslims, but unfortunately weak in knowledge and faith. They say to you, "I am an employee, my salary is such and such, and it barely covers my needs, my wife, and my son, or my wife, my son, and my daughter. We have enough for our needs." This is the logic of the first age of ignorance, when people resorted to killing their children. They defied Allah when they embraced Islam by His saying:
And do not kill your children for fear of poverty. We provide for them and for you و لا تقتلوا أولادكم خشية إملاق نحن نرزقهم و إياكم
[Al-Isra 17:31]
So this is a belief of the age of ignorance. It is forbidden for a husband and wife to agree or cooperate on limiting their offspring out of fear of poverty. Close to this, and I do not say the same as this, is that many fathers and mothers find it burdensome to raise their children. In reality, first of all, without a doubt, this is a negligence regarding the hadith of boasting, a complete negligence regarding the hadith of boasting. Second, it is accompanied by many, and very many, negligences regarding the fruit of raising children, whether they live or die. As for if they live, it is very clear that this child who lived, at least, is a Muslim who testifies that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, and especially if he prays and fasts. Then happy are his parents, for all his good deeds are recorded in their books, especially if behind that is the seeking of religious knowledge, and so on. So the parents are, as it were, drowning in good deeds without realizing it, because of their begetting of these children first, and then their patience in raising them until they reached manhood. We said this if they live. And if they die, the wonderful thing is that the reward is very great, to the extent that if it were permissible, a person would wish to marry and marry and have many children, and then die, and they would be a great loss for him, by his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
No two Muslims die for whom three of their children have died before reaching puberty, except that the Fire will not touch them, except as a breaking of the oath. No two Muslims die for whom three of their children have died before reaching puberty, except that the Fire will not touch them, except as a breaking of the oath. They said, "O Messenger of Allah, and what about two?" He said, "No two Muslims die for whom three of their children have died..." to the end of the hadith. They said, "And what about two, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "And two, the Fire will not touch them, except as a breaking of the oath."
The narrator said, "We thought that if someone were to say, 'And one, O Messenger of Allah,' he would say, 'And one.'" So the benefit of children, whether they die or live, is incalculable. Therefore, those who try to limit or regulate [birth] are in negligence, heedless. And I think this answer covers all types, and every person remains able to assess the situation that suits him. And I say this, our brother Abu Ahmad knows thatThe Shaykh : he was afflicted with... for the evening, but he knows that when he enters, he remains in the conversation, the evening, hehe.

The questioner : May Allah bless you.

The Shaykh : And Glory is to You, O Allah, and with Your praise, and I testify that there is no god but Allah

The questioner : May Allah honor you, O Shaykh.
