Does the general authentication by some of the imams of certain hadiths raise the status of a narrator whom no one has graded as trustworthy?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : The general authentication by some of the imams of certain hadiths. This is an authentic hadith, such as when Ibn Khuzaymah includes a hadith in his *Sahih*, and one of the narrators in this chain is not authenticated by anyone except Ibn Khuzaymah for this hadith. Does this authentication raise the status of this narrator whom no one has graded as trustworthy?

The Shaykh : This is like the authentication of Ibn Hibban, but with the proportion we mentioned between him and al-'Ujayli. Also, Ibn Khuzaymah has some of this leniency, but not much, because we find him contradicting his student Ibn Hibban regarding many narrators, where he does not use as evidence a hadith from someone he says, "I do not know him for integrity," while Ibn Hibban says, "The default for a narrator, or for a Muslim, is integrity." I want to say that the authentication of Ibn Khuzaymah is stronger than the authentication of Ibn Hibban. But if we come across an authentication of his that includes a man whom no one has graded as trustworthy except Ibn Khuzaymah or his student Ibn Hibban, and he does not have many narrators, then in that case, one suspends judgment on their authentication.

The questioner : May Allah reward you.
