What is your preferred position regarding the suspended narrations in al-Bukhari that are in the form of assertion, based on your practice?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : What is your preferred position, O Shaykh, regarding the suspended narrations in al-Bukhari that are in the form of assertion? Concerning the suspended narrations of al-Bukhari and the statement of al-Hafiz, and before him Ibn al-Salah, that those among them which are in the form of assertion are authentic up to the one who suspended them from them: Has it been established for you through practice and experience that this statement is correct, or have you come across something that refutes this generality or excludes it, even if it is rare?

The Shaykh : It is not in my mind that I have come across anything that refutes it.

The questioner : What Allah willed.

The Shaykh : But not everything that is asserted is authentic.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : And this is known to you.

The questioner : May Allah reward you. This is a continuation of what you previously answered regarding the difference between a correct mursal and a weak musnad, and you strengthened the statement of some scholars that a correct mursal is preferable to a weak musnad. I also benefited from this in a previous issue. If we cite a musnad that contains weakness as evidence, and a correct mursal has been cited as evidence by some scholars, then it is all the more so.

The Shaykh : That is correct.

The questioner : This is added to your first statement in refuting some of the contemporaries, or some of the young people, who deny the category of hasan li ghayrihi.

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : May Allah bless you.

The Shaykh : May Allah bless you.
