If the mursal hadiths in Sahih Muslim are in the form of a definitive statement, are they treated the same as the mursal hadiths in Sahih al-Bukhari?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Regarding the mursal hadiths in Muslim, if they are in the form of a definitive statement, are they treated like the mursal hadiths in al-Bukhari?

The Shaykh : But there is a point of attention in your question: how are the mursal hadiths of al-Bukhari treated?

The questioner : The ones in the form of a definitive statement?

The Shaykh : Because what exists in the mursal hadiths of al-Bukhari differs completely from what exists in the mursal hadiths of Sahih Muslim, both in quantity and quality. The mursal hadiths in Sahih al-Bukhari number in the hundreds, while the mursal hadiths in Sahih Muslim do not reach twenty. Furthermore, the mursal hadiths in Sahih al-Bukhari are of different types; some are definitive, while others are built on the passive voice, such as "it was narrated," "it was mentioned," "it was reported," and so on. This is not found in Sahih Muslim. However, their ruling is that they are munqati' (disconnected) hadiths, so they are treated as munqati' hadiths. They are inherently defective due to the disconnection. If a connected version is found outside the Sahih, it is given the ruling of a connected hadith, either being authentic or weak.
