The words of Shaykh Ibrahim Shuqqa in the presence of Shaykh al-Albani and his request of him for an advice to the general Muslim community.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Abu Malik: Indeed, praise is to Allah; we praise Him, seek His help, and seek His forgiveness. We seek refuge in Allah from the evil of our own souls and from the evil of our deeds. Whomsoever Allah guides, none can misguide, and whomsoever He misguides, none can guide. And I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah alone, with no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and His Messenger. As for what follows, O our Shaykh, O Abu 'Abd al-Rahman, time races against itself, and it is not within human capacity to outpace time, for time is long, long, long. People and the entire universe are things moving within the flow of time. Just as there is a meeting, there is a parting. If the meeting occurs in a moment of time, then the parting likewise occurs in one of its moments. We do not know when the parting will be, just as we knew when the meeting was. And if the earth is to be a covering for people, both the living and the dead, then we are now upon its back, and it will cover us within its depths one day, or it will have already covered us, and we do not know when that day will be. We have known you, O our Shaykh (may Allah preserve him), as one who never withholds anything, and you have not withheld, and you will continue to be so, providing people, and the Ummah in particular, and the Ummah of Islam in particular, with an ample share of the knowledge that past generations knew and that future generations will know. Your knowledge reminds us, and Allah is a witness to this. We do not say this to you out of flattery or sycophancy, but because all people on the earth and in all its corners know what we are saying. You have presented to people a knowledge that the world did not know except in the past generations, and in few of them. From you came renewal and the return of the Ummah to the embrace of the past, to rouse itself by itself, from what you hear of your great words that guide the bewildered people, return the misguided to the right path, and elevate the status of the weak in knowledge to make them strong, robust builders and preachers. Therefore, what is in this gathering that includes these brothers, and we have come only to visit you in your illness, praying for you that Allah may prolong your life, strengthen your resolve, and support your back, so that you may remain as you are. And here we see you, praise be to Allah, sitting in a state of well-being that we hope Allah will increase day after day, hour after hour, and minute after minute. So will you not delight us, O our Shaykh (may Allah preserve him), with an exhortation that benefits the entire Ummah, and especially those who are upon the methodology of the Book and the Sunnah, so that it remains inscribed in the record of time as heard words, written letters, and consecutive meanings, which do not exist except for such things, if there are such things, that fall upon the hearts of people. May Allah reward you with good.

The Shaykh : Praise is to Allah; we praise Him, seek His help, and seek His forgiveness. We seek refuge in Allah from the evil of our own souls and from the evil of our deeds. Whomsoever Allah guides, none can misguide, and whomsoever He misguides, none can guide. I bear witness that there is no deity but Allah alone, with no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and His Messenger.
