Does not one of you find three stones: two for the sides and one for the middle? أولا يجد أحدكم ثلاثة أحجار حجرين للصفحتين وحجرا للمسربة
Sunan al-Bayhaqi 1:501

The Shaykh : Yes
Al-Halabi: You quoted, our Shaykh, from al-Daraqutni in Tahdhib al-Sajid, then from Ibn al-Qayyim, and then I said that in my view there is a consideration regarding this. This Abu is Abu ibn al-Abbas ibn Ka'b, and he is the sole transmitter of this hadith. He is a rejected narrator, and no one has graded him as trustworthy. In fact, everyone who has commented on him has criticized him. Ibn Ma'in said "He is weak", and Ahmad said "His hadith is denounced", and al-Bukhari said "He is not strong", and al-Nasa'i said the same. Al-'Uqayli said "He has hadiths that are not corroborated in any of them". Ibn Abi Hatim listed him but did not mention any criticism or vindication regarding him. As for al-Dhahabi's statement in al-Mizan, "I say that Abu, even if he is not a reliable narrator, is a good narrator", this has no basis in my view after the confirmation of his weakness by the Imams we mentioned. Perhaps he was reassured by al-Bukhari's tracing of his hadith, but there is no reassurance in that after al-Bukhari himself explicitly stated that he is not strong, especially since he did not narrate from him except one hadith that contains no prohibition or permission and is not of great significance; it is only about mentioning the horses of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Its wording is: "The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had a horse called al-Lahif." And with that, he did not remain the sole transmitter, for his brother 'Abd al-Mu'min ibn al-Abbas corroborated him in Ibn Manda, as al-Hafiz mentioned in al-Fath. It seems al-Dhahabi retracted that when he listed this Abu in al-Du'afa and said "Ibn Ma'in criticized him, and Ahmad said: His hadith is denounced". And al-Hafiz said in al-Taqrib "He has weakness; he has only one hadith in al-Bukhari"

The Shaykh : Did you hear the answer?
