Request for the Shaykh to offer advice to those whom Allah has entrusted with the affairs of the Muslims, who employ in their jobs those who are not upright.

Abu Layla : Our Shaykh, we want advice for our brother Muhammad regarding his work, or regarding the employees he has. Most of them have no fear of Allah at all, and some of them, may Allah protect us from that, utter words. Is it permissible for these people to work, or is it permissible for him to employ people like this?

The Shaykh : No, it is not permissible, absolutely not.
And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression. وتعاونوا على البر والتقوى ولا تعاونوا على الإثم والعدوان
[Al-Ma'idah 5:2]
,
And each of you is a shepherd, and each of you is responsible for his flock. وكلكم راع وكلكم مسئول عن رعيته
As-Sunan al-Kubra lil-Nasa'i 63:267
. So these employees or hires of yours, you are their shepherd and you are responsible for them. In fact, even if they were less evil than what Abu Ahmad described, meaning you do not hear insults or slurs from them, but they do not pray, you are still responsible for them. You must order them to pray, and if one refuses you, you say to him, "Goodbye, we are in no need of your work." And so on. The Muslim community must be one block, in obedience to Allah and following the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). It is not permissible for a Muslim man who truly commits to the rulings of his religion to deal with people in his workplace whom he knows are not upon the Shari'ah of his Lord, Blessed and Exalted is He. Therefore, you must select these people and choose them to be among the Muslims who are obedient to the Lord of the worlds and who give sincere advice to their employer and owner of the business. As for being satisfied with just the fact that, by Allah, these people are good with me, but with the Lord of the worlds, Allah will hold them accountable, this is never Islamic logic. You must advise them. If one accepts your advice, that is good and fine. If one refuses, tell him, "The earth of Allah is vast."
Al-Halabi : May Allah reward him with good.

The Shaykh : Without a doubt.
Abu Layla : Here is a note: they are not good at all, and they do not preserve the money at all. Like the pots, they break them, and this and that, and they incur many losses. And he says, "I am forced to."

The Shaykh : We assume they are good with him, but with the Lord of the worlds they are bad, so it is not permissible to keep them with him. What can be said if they are not good with him either?
Al-Halabi : I do not know if the brother Nizam brought you a picture of them.

The Shaykh : What is it?
Al-Halabi : This is an article in the newspaper that was published, about the weak and fabricated hadiths in the virtues of Ramadan. But unfortunately, they changed the title. I had written it as "The Weak and Fabricated Hadiths in the Virtues of Ramadan." Look at what they did. They put in it "Fast and you will be healthy" and the hadith "If the people knew what is in Ramadan..."

The Shaykh : No, no, I did not see it. No, Subhan Allah. It is a problem with the newspaper owners; they do what they please.
Al-Halabi : They do what they please, by Allah. The most important thing was the title, meaning it caught the eye and so on.

Another questioner : The most important thing is the title.
