A discussion on political work, and on the book of 'Abd al-Rahman 'Abd al-Khalq.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : ... regarding the book *Society and Political Work*, whether in written form, on a tape, or otherwise. The Shaykh : By 'Abd al-Rahman 'Abd al-Khalq?

The Shaykh : I have read it, of course, and I have observations on it. Because we see that political work now is premature in one respect, and then, in my belief, the Ikhwan in Kuwait are on the path to becoming like the Muslim Brotherhood. They do not care about the da'wah, nor about what I call purification and training. Their concern is politics, positions, elections, parliament, and the like. More than that, he openly states that one must commit some of the forbidden things. If this were said by an Ikhwan member, it would be common, but how about from a Salafi? Allah says:
And whoever fears Allah - He will make for him a way out (3) And will provide for him from where he does not expect. ومن يتق الله يجعل له مخرجًا ويرزقه من حيث لا يحتسب
[At-Talaq 65:2-3]
. He says: One must commit some of the forbidden things.

The questioner : ... this in order to reach ...

The Shaykh : In the famous hadith:
Indeed, what is with Allah is not attained through the forbidden. فإن ما عند الله لا ينال بالحرام
Every horse has a stumble, but not stumbles.

The questioner : But ... in Jeddah with some of the Sudanese brothers.

The Shaykh : ... because they asked me for an appointment and discussed with me regarding our brother 'Abd al-Rahman's thesis, so I answered them with what Allah made pleasing at that time.

The questioner : In the famous hadith that many of the Salafi brothers and others mention when delving into or researching these issues, which is from the hadiths of the Sirah, that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), at the beginning of his da'wah, they came and offered him, saying: If you want kingship, we will make you king; if you want wealth, we will give it to you; if you want marriage, we will marry you to someone, and so on. This is a teacher; where do we find its takhrij, or its degree of authenticity, or something of this sort?

The Shaykh : I have not previously done its takhrij, but in my opinion, it is from the narrations of the Sirah that have no saddle and no bridle, yes, meaning it is from the anecdotes mentioned in the Sirah and attached without an isnad. Now, what is its relation to the political issue, and it is not political?

The questioner : I intend to say that if the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) were a political man now, he would have accepted the kingship, and when he became king, meaning he was able to spread his da'wah.

The Shaykh :
I almost inclined to them a littleلقد كدت تركن إليهم شيئًا قليلًا
Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 34:1282
... I do not know if it is in Jeddah or anywhere else.

The questioner : We heard that it was intentionally hidden, not published by the Salafi brothers intentionally by some of them, that they do not want to publish a response toThe Shaykh : 'Abd al-Rahman, until a tape of yours from Kuwait came, containing a phrase in your response to the bookThe Shaykh : that there are some errors in it. They deleted this phrase and published the tape. We have a copy that came to us first, and one of my close brothers has a copy before the distortion. These are the circumstances I mentioned, in addition to some actions like expelling some of the brothers and freezing them, and so on.

The Shaykh : This is the story of the Ikhwan. One was invited, and they expelled them because they used to attend my gatherings and sometimes come to their house. So they said to them: The two things cannot coexist, oh group, eitherThe Shaykh : The group's answer was that this is a scientific matter. They attend a Shaykh who has no faction and no party. It is not either the Ikhwan orThe Shaykh : This is the problem of partisanship and factionalism. I truly fear for our brothers there that their da'wah will turn into politics, and then they will not succeed. The Muslim Brotherhood has had a century pass since their da'wah began. Look at what they have done. They have not revived anything of faith, Islam, or rulings in themselves or in others, but rather they are just going around in circles.

The questioner : Our Shaykh, the tape of the typewriters that we recorded with you once. Our brother in Kuwait, his tape was not good, so he sent me to send him the tape through one of our brothers. Indeed, I sent the tape and wrote on the tape: Do not play with the tape, leave it as it is arranged, because this is first a series and it has numbers and everything. So I placed at the beginning of the tape, on the first side, about the Salafi da'wah, and it had introductions by our brother Wafiq, and I arranged them. One of our brothers heard the tape, far from the original tape which is with me, and there is nothing in it except some things, but I am not playing with the tape, not arranging it as it was, because its arrangement was very good, meaning, and I did not release it except our brotherThe Shaykh : 'Ali heard it and saw that it was good, and our brother Wafiq likewise, meaning I did not release it like this.

The Shaykh : Meaning Wafiq came?

The questioner : Yes, he came and sent you his greetings. It has only been four days.

The Shaykh : How is he?

The questioner : What Allah willed, he is well, and praise be to Allah, because he is chosen, our Shaykh, busy with his relatives, this one is having dinner and this one lunch.

The Shaykh : If it is not disliked, he did not buy it, no problem. You say: "Mukhtarah." You use this, it is famous in Syria.

The questioner : So-and-so is "mutamakhkhir." It has a linguistic root, our Shaykh, "tubakhkhir."

The Shaykh : Yes, I think this is in the hadith about the one who was swallowed by the earth.

The questioner : It is a walk that Allah and His Messenger hate, except in this place.

The Shaykh : The one who was swallowed by the earth used to walk with arrogance, so he was swallowed by the earth, and he continues to be swallowed until the Day of Resurrection.
