What are the Shaykh's guidelines regarding the weakness of hearts and the love of prominence that has occurred in this time?

The Shaykh: Yes.
Al-Halabi : He saysThe questioner : The weakness of hearts, the diseases of souls, and the love of prominence are illnesses that have afflicted Muslims in general, and the callers to Allah in particular. What are your guidelines to remedy this regrettable situation?
The Shaykh : By Allah, this is a very delicate matter, and there is no salvation or escape from it except the fear of Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He). And none possesses the guidance of hearts except the Knower of the Unseen (Glorified and Exalted is He). When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would send some of his Companions to a battle or to a call, he would suffice by ordering him to fear Allah, to avoid the prohibitions of Allah, and to treat people with good character; to mix with them and treat them with good character. If these calamities have befallen a large group of Muslims, including some of the callers, and this is indeed a bitter reality, the matter has no cure except that every Muslim, whether he is a caller or one being called, should watch Allah (Mighty and Majestic) and fear Him in everything he does and leaves. The matter actually requires, as means, educators; this is a fact that is not denied, educators. But these educators must first have their souls refined and their intentions purified for the Lord of the Worlds; and second, they must have been granted a great share of knowledge of the Book and the Sunnah so that they can direct the individuals of the entire Ummah to adhere to Islamic morals, to avoid, for example, self-admiration, arrogance, and seeking the world with the Hereafter, and the like of what has afflicted many people today.
And it came in the authentic hadith from his saying (peace and blessings be upon him): This aspect, which is the issue of lack of sincerity in the call and lack of sincerity in working for Islam, is the problem of problems in the present age. Many Islamic callers do not call except for a job, and many students of knowledge do not seek knowledge for Allah, but they seek knowledge, and this is a very clear matter. It has become a self-evident matter that all students have neglected, except those whom Allah has protected, seeking knowledge to obtain the degree, and the purpose of obtaining the degree is to get a job. So he seeks knowledge to obtain the world with it, and this, as you heard in the previous hadith, has no share in the Hereafter. The jihad in the path of Allah that took place in Palestine and, unfortunately, was cut off, and took place in Afghanistan and we hope it will not be cut off; this jihad in the path of Allah, if the mujahid in it does not intend the Face of Allah, then the one who refrains from jihad is better than him. The mujahid in the path of Allah, if he intends other than the Face of Allah in his jihad, then the one who is negligent and refrains from jihad in the path of Allah is better than him. Why? Because this negligent one is leaving an obligation, without doubt, but that one who fights in the path of Allah has not established this obligation but has acquired a sin. Why? Because he did not obey His saying (the Exalted) or did not conduct himself according to His saying (Blessed and Exalted is He): [Al-Kahf 18:110] He does not associate anyone with him in his jihad in the path of Allah. He does not fight so that it is said, "So-and-so left his land and went and traveled abroad for what? For jihad in Afghanistan." All these thoughts and meanings must be far, far away from the minds of the mujahideen in the path of Allah. And al-Bukhari and Muslim narrated in their Sahihs from the hadith of Abu Musa al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: So the important thing today for all individuals of the Muslims, and especially the callers among them, is to purify their intentions and to improve their morals. And among that is that they should habituate themselves to the supplication that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) taught us by his action, where he would say: Bulugh al-Maram 16:101 Thus we must supplicate to Allah (Mighty and Majestic) in our seclusion and in our public gatherings.

And it came in the authentic hadith from his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
Give good tidings to this Ummah of elevation, glory, majesty, and establishment in the earth. And whoever among them does a deed for the world from the deed of the Hereafter, he has no share in the Hereafter.
بشر هذه الأمة بالرفعة والسناء والمجد والتمكين في الأرض ، ومن عمل منهم عملا للدنيا من عمل الآخرة فليس له في الآخرة من نصيبSay, "I am only a man like you, to whom has been revealed that your god is one God. So whoever would hope for the meeting with his Lord - let him do righteous work and not associate in the worship of his Lord anyone."
قل إنما أنا بشر مثلكم يوحى إلي أنما إلهكم إله واحد فمن كان يرجوا لقاء ربه فليعمل عملا صالحا ولا يشرك بعبادة ربه أحداA man said: O Messenger of Allah, is the man among us who fights out of tribal loyalty in the path of Allah? He said: No. He said: Is the man among us who fights out of bravery in the path of Allah? He said: No. He said: Is the man among us who fights out of partisanship in the path of Allah? He said: No. He said: Then who is in the path of Allah? He said: The one who fights so that the word of Allah is the highest, he is in the path of Allah.
O Allah You have made my creation perfect, so make my moral characteristics also be the best.
