How should the efforts and style of scholars and preachers be in calling to Allah in this harsh reality?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : As for the efforts, my Shaykh, that means talking about the efforts of the scholars, how many scholars there are. But as for the style of da'wah, how will it be? The scholars... There are people who say, "We are part of a group, for example." I know that in the time of the Salaf, for instance, in Islamic history, there were no Islamic movements operating. There was so-and-so's movement, so-and-so's movement, and so-and-so's movement. In fact, the style of the scholars was the one that spread it, and on their shoulders the da'wah was established in many places. So how is it?

The Shaykh : Factionalism contradicts Islam and divides the Muslims. Even if it has strength, it dissipates it and weakens it. For Allah the Exalted said:
each faction, in what it has, rejoicing. كل حزب بما لديهم فرحون
[Al-Mu'minun 23:53]
.

The questioner : How should these efforts be, and how will these efforts be utilized?

The Shaykh : It does not require a specific method. Every person calls people to what he knows, without factionalism for a specific person or a specific group, just as you discussed in your speech how the predecessors were. For this reason, we see the narrated sayings:
"And all good is in following those who came before, and all evil is in the innovation of those who came after."
There were no factions or groupings among the Muslims in the early period. Therefore, the matter must continue to be so. All Muslims should cooperate, each within the scope of his specialization, in calling to Islam and acting upon it, without partisan grouping.

The questioner : Does this mean that it is not required for a person to follow a specific group, and that it is possible to work alone?

The Shaykh : It does not mean that it is not required; it is not permissible. It is not just that it is not required, because "not required" means it is permissible, whereas we say it is not permissible.

The questioner : Could Islamic organizations have a role in a matter like this?

The Shaykh : How?

The questioner : Islamic organizations could have a role, meaning...

The Shaykh : You say they have a role in what?

The questioner : They could have a role in a matter like this, which is purification and education.

The Shaykh : No, because if that were the case, they would not be the way they are. If they had a role in purification and education, it would have been so. The beginning of purification is the absence of grouping and factionalism. We have lived for half a century and seen groupings and factions, and they have brought the Muslims nothing but increased division and disagreement. This is one aspect. From another aspect, this grouping and factionalism diverted them from purification. Because what is the meaning of purification?
It means correct knowledge, correct knowledge of the Book and the Sunnah. A person's capacity is limited. When he confines himself to a specific methodology, he turns away from another methodology. Now, let me give an example: it is fine for a person to specialize in medicine; there is no harm in this, it is permissible. But he cannot specialize in the field of the Shari'ah. He must specialize in the Shari'ah, which he did not specialize in regarding medicine. But in the end, we have specializations. In the end, all these people must be one block.

The questioner : In the crucible of Islam.

The Shaykh : Yes, one crucible...
