Why did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prohibit naming people Yasir, Rabi'ah, Najah, or Falaah?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Yes, the...

The questioner : Peace be upon you

The Shaykh : And upon you be peace, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.

The questioner: May Allah reward you

The Shaykh : May Allah grant you well-being

The questioner: A question, if you permit, I have a book here, a religious book, the book of Dhikr

The Shaykh : The Dhikr of Imam al-Nawawi

The questioner: By Muhyi al-Din ibn Zakariyya Yahya ibn Sharaf al-Nawawi

The Shaykh : Yes, yes, is it?

The questioner: My master, regarding names, I am telling you
Do not name [your child] Yasir, nor Rabi'ah, nor Najah, nor Falaah. لا تسمى يسار ولا رباحًا ولا نجاحًا ، ولا فلاحًا
So, my master, is this correct, meaning?

The Shaykh : Yes, this is correct, certainly these are names the Messenger prohibited naming with

The questioner: The name Falaah, for example

The Shaykh : Yes, Yasir and Najah and Falaah and the like.

The questioner: My name is Najah, should I change it?

The Shaykh : You, may Allah have mercy on us and you, in life and in death.

The questioner: Amen, O Lord.

The Shaykh : How is your wood, now, how old are you now?

The questioner: Forty-six.

The Shaykh : What Allah willed, what do you want to do now, but you should pay attention to your children and grandchildren.

The questioner: Praise be to Allah, my children's names are Muhammad and Abdullah and Walid.

The Shaykh : Well done, you were responsible for the one who named you, the one who named you was responsible for you, but now the responsibility has been lifted from you and has come upon you from another side, which is that you choose for your children and grandchildren, if Allah wills, the prescribed names, and now I have heard from you some names that I did not like, I am saying I heard from you some names that I did not like.

The questioner: My children's names

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner: The girls' names, meaning

The Shaykh : I do not know, you named

The questioner: I have Du'a

The Shaykh : Du'a is good

The questioner: And the youngest is Nida'.

The Shaykh : What does Nida' mean?

The questioner: Her maternal uncle named her...

The Shaykh : This is the problem, you are responsible now.

The questioner: The eldest is Nadiya.

The Shaykh : Ah, Nadiya, may Allah reform you, may Allah guide you, and teach you your religion, Allah in the Qur'an says
(17) Then let him call his associates; (18) We will call the angels of Hell. فَلْيَدْعُ نَادِيَهُ * سَنَدْعُ الزَّبَانِيَةَ
[Al-'Alaq 96:17-18]
So this name and Nida' means these are names that are not prescribed; because first, they have no meanings, what does Nida' mean, it means shouting, what is the taste of this name?

The questioner: Yes, this is correct, meaning calling for aid.

The Shaykh : Ah, the important thing now, they say about us in Sham that we are the children of the hour, the children of the day, so if Allah gives you a child from you or from one of your children or from one of your daughters, you must ask the people of knowledge that we have chosen this name, is it acceptable or not, today everyone chooses a name or names their son or daughter, do you know for example some girls' names are Wasal, what does Wasal mean? I seek refuge in Allah, and something named Saham, and if it were one Saham it would be enough, so what about the one who named Saham, this is not permissible in Islam, and take what you want of the names, and this is not permissible, and this is Dhikr, and Dhikr benefits the Muslims, and peace be upon you.
