If one adds a sheep to the 'Aqiqah for a female child, is this considered a transgression of the Sunnah?

The Shaykh : There is no transgression of the Sunnah in this if it is the custom of the Sunnah. And I think he is not aware of the Sunnah, because many people assume that it is recommended to invite people to the 'Aqiqah, and this is not from the Sunnah.
