Is it permissible to accept a gift from a person we know deals in riba?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Is it permissible to accept a gift from a person we know deals in riba?

The Shaykh : Yes, this is permissible. It is permissible for a person to accept a gift from one who deals in riba, and it is permissible to trade with him, to partner with him, and to accept his invitation, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) accepted a gift from the Jews and bought food from a Jew for his family. However, if we know that if we refrain from him, do not trade with him, do not partner with him, and do not accept his gift, he will desist from riba, then we do that: we do not sell to him, we do not buy from him, and we do not accept his gift, because this falls under the category of cooperating in righteousness and piety.
