What is the authenticity of the Prayer of Tasbih in terms of its chain of narration and its text?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : ... We were reviewing and studying the Prayer of Tasbih with some students of knowledge. It seemed as if they were saying there is something wrong with this hadith. When we studied the chain of narration, they were speaking about the text and mentioning a defect in the text; because this prayer has no previous or customary form. The question is: has anyone spoken about the text?

The Shaykh : Some of them spoke about it, as I quoted from some of them.

The questioner : Meaning, they spoke about the text.

The Shaykh : I do not say they spoke about the text. I say some of them spoke, just as you spoke about some of them. They said that this prayer contradicts the known and established forms of prayer. That is what they said.

The questioner : Who among the famous and well-known scholars in this field?

The Shaykh : Before us, Ibn Taymiyyah, and before him, Ibn al-Jawzi.

The questioner : Did he narrate it in *Al-Mawdu'at* (The Fabricated Hadiths)?

The Shaykh : Yes, but their argument is refuted because this is a logical, rational objection, and it has no value in the critique of hadith texts. Perhaps you remember with me the description of the eclipse prayer, which is two units, with two bowings in each unit. This prayer is distinguished from all customary prayers. So what harm is there after the hadith is established from the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), despite the Hanafis contradicting this manner? This critique is of no use at all. It is obligatory for every hadith scholar who turns to the critique of hadiths that his critique be of their chains of narration, not their texts. But if a hadith is not established in terms of its chain of narration, then the critic, if he has logic, turns to critiquing the text as well, and the hadith becomes weak in its chain and denounced in its text.
