What is the ruling on Islamic political parties? And are they equal in the unity of their source?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : The praise is due to Allah; we praise Him, seek His help, and seek His forgiveness. We seek refuge in Allah from the evil of our own souls and from the evil of our deeds. Whomsoever Allah guides, none can mislead, and whomsoever He leaves to mislead, none can guide. And I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah alone, with no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and His Messenger.
O you who have believed, fear Allah as He should be feared and do not die except as Muslims [in submission to Him].
[Ali 'Imran 3:102]
O mankind, fear your Lord, who created you from one soul and created from it its mate and dispersed from both of them many men and women. And fear Allah, through whom you ask one another, and the wombs. Indeed Allah is ever, over you, an Observer.
[An-Nisa 4:1]
(70) O you who have believed, fear Allah and speak words of appropriate justice. (71) He will [then] amend for you your deeds and forgive you your sins. And whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger has certainly attained a great attainment.
[Al-Ahzab 33:70-71]
As for what follows, the best of speech is the speech of Allah, and the best of guidance is the guidance of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). The worst of matters are their innovations, and every innovation is a religious innovation, and every religious innovation is misguidance, and every misguidance is in the Fire. And after that, let us see.
Abu Layla : QuestionsThe questioner ؟

The Shaykh : That is all.
Abu Layla: Go ahead.

The questioner : The first question: Some people ask about the multitude of Islamic political parties present on the scene. Do they all pour into the same mold? And what is their legal ruling?

The Shaykh : Unfortunately, the answer is no. The parties existing today, or the groups established on the Islamic land, have multiple methodologies and their systems differ greatly. Consider with me when you hear the plural of "party," "parties," when you hear the word "parties" and you are compelled to ask a question like this one containing this word, "parties." Consider with me this word to know that this is not in accordance with the methodology of Islam. Our Lord, Mighty and Majestic, said in the Qur'an from one angle:
and do not be of those who associate others with Allah (32) [Or] of those who have divided their religion and become sects, every faction rejoicing in what it has.
[Ar-Rum 30:31-32]
And He said in another verse, indicating that the one party that is the successful party and the triumphant party is what I mean by the saying of the Blessed and Exalted:
And, [moreover], this is My path, which is straight, so follow it; and do not follow [other] ways, for you will be separated from His way
[Al-An'am 6:153]
So the parties are many and the paths are numerous. The first verse is like the other; they meet in the condemnation of the multiplicity of parties and the multiplicity of paths. And in each of them, our Lord, Mighty and Majestic, clarifies with a clarity beyond clarity that the path leading to Allah, Mighty and Majestic, is only one path. And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) added explanation to that verse and the other verse, as is his custom with many of the verses of his Lord, by saying: He was sitting among his Companions. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was one day sitting among his Companions in his well-known sitting that indicates his humility. He was sitting on the ground, so he drew a straight line on it, and he drew short lines around this straight line. A straight line, and on both sides of the straight line, short lines. Then he recited the second verse and said:
And, [moreover], this is My path, which is straight, so follow it; and do not follow [other] ways, for you will be separated from His way
[Al-An'am 6:153]
Then he said, while passing his noble finger over the straight line:
This is the path of Allah, and these are paths, and at the head of each of these paths is a devil calling people to it.
As for the other hadith, I think none of you is exempt from having read it or having it reached your ears repeatedly, namely his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
The Jews split into seventy-one sects, and the Christians split into seventy-two sects, and my Ummah (the Muslim community) will split into seventy-three sects, all of them in the Fire except one.
They said, "Who is she, O Messenger of Allah?" He said:
It is the Jama'ah.
And in another narration that explains the first narration, he said:
It is the one that is upon what I and my Companions are upon.
So this hadith also confirms that salvation is not achieved by splitting up and forming parties, sects, and various paths, but rather by belonging to one path and following one path, namely the path of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). And I think this is a reality that no one who has been given any knowledge, even if it is little, will dispute or argue about, because we have not mentioned anything but the speech of Allah, Mighty and Majestic, or an authentic hadith of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). And anything after that is of no value whatsoever, like the saying of the Blessed and Exalted:
He who obeys the Messenger has obeyed Allah
[An-Nisa 4:80]
And like the saying of the Mighty and Majestic:
And if you disagree over anything, refer it to Allah and the Messenger, if you should believe in Allah and the Last Day. That is the best [way] and best in result.
[An-Nisa 4:59]
So if we have returned to the Book and the Sunnah in answering that question regarding the multiplicity of parties and groups, and the Book and the Sunnah are explicit in condemning party formation and in condemning splitting up, then there is no doubt that there remains only one path and only one party, which is the one that Allah, Mighty and Majestic, praised in a well-known verse in the Noble Qur'an:
Unquestionably, the party of Allah - they are the successful.
[Al-Mujadila 58:22]
Whoever is eager to be from that party cannot achieve that in himself unless he knows the sign of this party, its system, and its methodology. If the path leading to the realization of this party is one, then the methodology must also be one. If the methodologies of those groups or sects or parties are multiple, then there is no doubt that the multiplicity of these methodologies is a branch of the multiplicity of parties and groups. And what is built upon error or misguidance is no doubt itself misguidance. And as was said in the past, "How can the shadow be straight when the stick is crooked?" I say, some may ask: What is the sign of the saved sect that the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) made explicit in that hadith and in his explanation of the verse:
And, [moreover], this is My path, which is straight, so follow it
[Al-An'am 6:153]
So he drew one line and drew around it those many short, broad lines.
