The questioner : The questioner, Mustafa, says in this question: “Your Eminence, I am an employee, and most of my work is fieldwork outside the administration, and the amount of fieldwork varies from day to day. For example, on some days, I leave at nine o'clock and finish at twelve noon, and on some days it is less than that. Is it permissible for me to go to my home after finishing the work assigned to me in the field, given that my work is under the sun's rays and may require great effort?”

The Shaykh : Fieldwork is measured by its extent. If he is assigned to do fieldwork and then finishes it in one or two hours, the rest of the time is his. He can go to his house, go to a friend, go to the mosque, or go wherever he wishes, because the duration of fieldwork may be long, and it may be longer than the time-based work, or it may be shorter. This is because what is required of the worker is to complete this work, regardless of its duration. However, we must know that it is not permissible for a person to neglect the work assigned to him in order to finish it quickly. Rather, he must strive with utmost effort to perform this work in the required manner. Yes.

The questioner : May Allah reward you.
