Advice to the da'wah workers in Kuwait. Regarding those who follow the path of political parties and call to Islam through the parliament.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Praise be to Allah, and may peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah. As for some of our brothers who are with us in the Salafi creed and the Salafi da'wah, they have adopted the path of these political parties regarding these parliaments. What do we say to them? Shaykh, please direct some advice to them, because in Kuwait now, their da'wah to implement the ruling of Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, has become through the parliament. This is what is happening with us now. As for the scholarly da'wah, it has diminished greatly to the point that it has no clarity with us. We ask for a word, may Allah reward you.

The Shaykh : This is a natural result. That is why we insist and emphasize that our Salafi brothers in all the lands of Islam remain da'wah workers to Allah, to the Book and the Sunnah, and educators of the people upon this Book and Sunnah. We believe that the Muslim world today is as the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) informed us in some authentic hadiths, such as his saying (peace and blessings be upon him) in the well-known hadith:
If you trade by way of 'inah, take the tails of cattle, and are content with crops, and leave off jihad in the cause of Allah, Allah will impose upon you a humiliation that He will not remove from you until you return to your religion. إذا تبايعتم بالعينة وأخذتم أذناب البقر ورضيت بالزرع وتركتكم الجهاد في سبيل الله سلط الله عليكم ذلا لا ينزعه عنكم حتى ترجعوا إلى دينكم
Most of the Muslim traders today are falling into these violations, some of which are mentioned in this hadith, and other matters in other hadiths. If these Muslims do not first learn the correct Islam, and then do not receive the correct Islamic education, meaning if they know that something is forbidden, they avoid it, and if they know that something is obligatory, they perform it, and if they know that something is permissible, they do as they wish with it, whether they leave it or do it. Today, you will not find a Muslim community, even if it is a small community like the state of Kuwait, where a group has united on the basis of the correct understanding of Islam and its practical application in their own selves. Therefore, entering the parliament first is not the method that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) followed in establishing the state of Islam in the land of al-Madinah al-Munawwarah. He (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) concerned himself, as you know, first with what all the prophets and messengers concerned themselves with, which was that their da'wah, which they lived for many long years, was to worship Allah and avoid the taghut. If a Muslim person thinks about the life of Noah (peace be upon him) in his da'wah, which he lived for a thousand years minus fifty years, what was he calling his people to? Was he calling his people to the Shari'ah of Islam that Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) brought, with its rules, principles, and branches that Muslims need throughout the ages and eras? There was not such detail in the previous shari'ahs as what came with Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). Nevertheless, he remained among his people for a thousand years minus fifty years. What was he calling them to? He was calling them to tawhid (the oneness of Allah). Today, they find it excessive for us. All the Islamic groups ask: until when will you be content with tawhid, the Book, and the Sunnah? And the Jews have occupied the lands, and so on. Well, they object not to us, but in reality, they object to the prophets and messengers, especially the one among them who lived the longest, which is Noah (peace be upon him). These many years he called them to worship Allah alone, having no partner with Him. If these people do not know the value of tawhid, they have neglected such as his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
Whoever says, "There is no god but Allah," sincerely from his heart, Allah will protect his body from the Fire. من قال لا إله إلا الله مخلصا من قلبه حرم الله بدنه على النار
and such as his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
Narrated 'Urban bin Malik: who attended the Badr battle and was from the Ansar, that he came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said, "O Allah's Apostle! I have lost my eyesight and I lead my people in the prayer (as an Imam). When it rains, the valley which is between me and my people, flows with water, and then I cannot go to their mosque to lead them in the prayer. O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! I wish that you could come and pray in my house so that I may take it as a praying place. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Allah willing, I will do that." The next morning, soon after the sun had risen, Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) came with Abu Bakr. The Prophet (ﷺ) asked for the permission to enter and I admitted him. The Prophet (ﷺ) had not sat till he had entered the house and said to me, "Where do you like me to pray in your house?" I pointed at a place in my house whereupon he stood and said, "Allahu Akbar." We lined behind him and he prayed two rak`at and finished it with Taslim. We then requested him to stay for a special meal of Khazira which we had prepared. A large number of men from the adjoining area gathered in the house. One of them said, "Where is Malik bin Ad-Dukhshun?" Another man said, "He is a hypocrite and does not love Allah and His Apostle." The Prophet said, "Do not say so. Do you not think that he has said: "None has the right to be worshipped but Allah," seeking Allah's pleasure? The man said, "Allah and His Apostle know better, but we have always seen him mixing with hypocrites and giving them advice." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Allah has forbidden the (Hell) Fire for those who testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah, seeking Allah's pleasure. " من قال لا إله إلا الله نفعته يوما من دهره
Sahih al-Bukhari 5401
They did not know the greatness of tawhid. And so they turned to what? To something they do not possess and cannot ever reach. They want to enter the parliament, like these brothers there in Yemen!

The questioner : They have entered.

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : They have entered with us.

The Shaykh : Yes, but now there is a new movement to enter a new election. Is there a parliament with you now?

The questioner : They entered, O Shaykh, and it is continuing now. That is it, many Salafi youth have entered!

The Shaykh : Allah is the Helper!

The questioner : Yes, exactly.

The Shaykh : The point is that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not participate with the polytheists in their da'wah, nor did he follow them in their misguidance. He did not even establish the proof against them through diplomatic means, as these brothers want to change the system of governance, the system of tyranny in rule, and restrict it to a specific family, and so on. They want to reach their goal gently and claim to be the best, contrary to the path of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). They will not succeed at all. Rather, I am certain that these Muslims, and let us say Salafis, even if only figuratively, and I hope they are truly Salafis, but they have deviated scientifically from some of the line. Let us say that these Salafi parliamentarians will be influenced and will not influence others. They will be influenced and will not influence others. And we see examples. Yes.
Abu Malik: And reality bears witness.

The Shaykh : I say, I wanted to say that we saw there in Syria, one of them enters and his beard is noble, and then he keeps shaving it, shaving it, until it becomes a Syrian common beard. They say so.
Abu Malik: A prescribed beard, O Shaykh.

The Shaykh : Hahaha. They say in Syria: "The best of beards is the one that is a sign," meaning with the machine, number one, number two.

The questioner : It is so, O Shaykh. Some of our youth have taken from their beards.

The Shaykh : We say, from experience, and we know the effect of the sweeping current, the effect of the job and the seat. It is now the rulers, these Muslims who are still, I mean, in the rule of Muslims, and not like some who declared their apostasy when they denied the Sunnah, denied fasting, denied the sacrifices, from the economic aspect and the gifts in Hajj, and so on. But I say: these rulers who are still Muslims with us, what prevents them from returning to implementing the system of Islam? It is their concern for their seats. It will befall these Salafi brothers what befell the big heads regarding their concern for remaining in power, despite the deviation from the Book and the Sunnah. But the difference, the difference is very serious. Those rulers do not say, "We are trying to change the system." But these deputies enter with a very serious Satanic trick. They want reform. Reform of what? "Can the perfumer fix what time has spoiled?" My brother, stay on your previous da'wah, and as he (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
If Allah were to guide a man through your hand, that would be more beloved to me than red camels. لئن يهدي الله على يديك رجلا أحب إلي من حمر النعم
So the Salafi da'wah in all the lands of Islam, praise be to Allah, has guided thousands, if not millions, through it. But as soon as these da'wah workers call to the da'wah and enter to work in politics and the state, it will weaken and weaken. And this is what befell the Muslim Brotherhood and what befell the Tahrir Party, where they did not benefit from their da'wah at all, despite their concern for calling to what they call the sovereignty of Allah. Well, the sovereignty of Allah only for the rulers? For you as well? And we used to hear some preachers there in Syria rise up with enthusiasm and respond to the rulers who rule by other than what Allah has revealed, and then he contradicts the ruling in himself in his prayer, in his worship. So when we start advising him and reminding him, he says, "This is the madhhab of Abu Hanifah." Subhan Allah. Well, there the sovereignty is for Allah only in what concerns the disbelievers. Even those who deviate from the ruling and are Muslims, they are also obligated to be sincere in the sovereignty of Allah, Mighty and Majestic, even in themselves. So the point is, we advise our brothers in all the lands, if they want the face of Allah, not to enter the parliaments, because first, they contradict the Shari'ah, because the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was addressed by his Lord, the Lord of the Worlds, with His saying:
you would have almost inclined to them a little. لقد كدت تركن إليهم شيئا قليلا
[Al-Isra 17:74]
So these people have relied upon them greatly, because they approve these systems, and in them, as the Yemenis wrote to me, is the approval of riba (usury or interest), the approval of zina (unlawful sexual intercourse), the approval of selling khamr (intoxicants), and so on. How can there be reform under these systems and under these laws? Yes.
Ali Hasan: O our Shaykh, I am confirming your words. In fact, I read an article in a magazine, whose people want it to be Salafi!

The Shaykh: Yes.
Ali Hasan: Although it seems that it has deviated from the methodology in a way similar to what you mentioned, my professor. There is a title for an article; I captured the last part word for word, but the first part I captured by meaning. What does it say, O Shaykh?

The Shaykh : Well, lastly or first?
Ali Hasan: First and last. So it says: "There is no establishment of the state of Islam, or Islamic work, or the rule of Islam, except through political work!" This is what I did not capture word for word, but this is its meaning.

The Shaykh : Allah is Greater. Yes, this is known about them!
Ali Hasan: There is no power and no strength except with Allah!
