The Shaykh: Look now, how many sciences are there in the Shari'ah? You find that all the youth have rushed into the science of hadith. You do not find dozens, let alone hundreds, who have advanced and specialized in the science of tafsir, or in the science of fiqh derived from the Book and the Sunnah, or in any science the community needs other than the science of hadith. Look now at the printing presses; what are they printing? Books related to hadith, and they are very, very strange, especially those concerning dhikr and daily recitations. You find dozens of books that are nothing but copied from here and there and there. The one who writes them has never worked in hadith. The one who compiles them has never worked in hadith. What about the market hadith? Are there any works on the science of hadith? Nothing at all. He just stepped forward to refute a man, no matter who he is, for he is not sinless, but more than half a century has passed and he is in this science, and he is neither in the caravan nor in the raid. He has no writings indicating that he is a scholar of hadith and proficient in it. But ideas came to him, so he recorded them in this treatise, if that is the correct name, and put his name on it.
