What is the ruling on following the mistakes of some female teachers while ignoring others, and seeking out their violations and having bad thoughts about them while not doing so for other female teachers, and is it just in one’s work to follow the mistakes and slips of some while ignoring others, knowing that a person is not protected from error?

The questioner : This is a questioner for the program who says: O honorable Shaykh, may Allah preserve you, what is the ruling on following the mistakes of some female teachers while ignoring others, and seeking out their violations and having bad thoughts about them while not doing so for other female teachers, and is it just in one’s work to follow the mistakes and slips of some while ignoring others, knowing that a person is not protected from error?

The Shaykh : Following the faults of Muslims is forbidden. In fact, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), as is reported of him, warned against this with the strongest warning. He said:
O you who believe with your tongues but faith has not entered your hearts, do not harm the Muslims and do not follow their faults. For whoever follows the fault of his brother, Allah will follow his fault, and whoever Allah follows his fault, He will expose him, even in the hole of his mother, or he said, even in the house of his mother.
It is obligatory for a Muslim toward his brother to cover his faults, for whoever covers the fault of his brother, Allah will cover his fault. One should know that no one is free from deficiency, no one is free from shortcoming, and no one is free from a fault. So it is obligatory to cover faults, and then to give advice to the one in whom this fault is found, for religion is advice, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said:
Religion is advice, religion is advice, religion is advice. الدين النصيحة الدين النصيحة الدين النصيحة
They said: To whom, O Messenger of Allah? He said:
To Allah, to His Book, To His Messenger, and to the leaders of the Muslims and their masses. لله ولكتابه ولرسوله ولأئمة المسلمين وعامتهم
Sahih Muslim 55a
Yes.

The questioner : May Allah reward you and bless you, Your Eminence the Shaykh, for this blessed guidance.
