Pursuing the faults of the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them)

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa number ( 21368 )
Q2: What is your opinion regarding a group of people who pursue the faults of the Companions and disparage them, accusing them of open sinfulness and stinginess , and sometimes cowardice? They even said: The Companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) differ in creed. We ask your Eminence to clarify the creed of the people of the Sunnah and the community regarding the Companions of the Messenger of Allah and to defend them against those who pursue the mistakes of the Companions and accuse them of things that do not befit them. And what
is the position of the Muslims toward this group, may Allah guide them to the truth?

A2 : The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Do not revile my Companions; by him in whose hand my soul is, if one of you contributed the amount of gold equivalent to Uhud, it would not amount to as much as the mudd of one of them, or half of it.لا تسبوا أصحابي، فوالذي نفسي بيده لو أنفق أحدكم مثل أحد ذهبًا ما بلغ مُدَّ أحدهم ولا نصيفه
Sunan Abi Dawud 4658Sahih (Al-Albani)
. And Allah the Exalted said, when He mentioned the Emigrants and the Helpers:
And [there is a share for] those who came after them, saying, "Our Lord, forgive us and our brothers who preceded us in faith and put not in our hearts [any] resentment toward those who have believed. Our Lord, indeed You are Kind and Merciful."
[Al-Hashr 59:10]
. It is not permissible to disparage the Companions or any one of them. Rather, it is obligatory to love them, be pleased with them, and seek forgiveness for them. Only a misguided innovator would curse them or disparage them. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
