What is the faction, what is the community, and what is the difference between them?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Another repeated question: What is the faction and what is the community? We ask for clarification between them.

The Shaykh : No, there is no difference in terms of the result between the faction and the community, as evidenced by the previous hadith, which I mentioned on that occasion. I mentioned its ending, so now we present to you its beginning in its entirety. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
The Jews divided into seventy-one factions, and the Christians divided into seventy-two factions, and my Ummah will divide into seventy-three factions, all of them in the Fire except one. تفرقت اليهود على إحدى وسبعين فرقة و تفرقت النصارى على اثنتين وسبعين فرقة وستفترق أمتي على ثلاث وسبعين فرقة كلها في النار إلا واحدة
What does "except one" mean? It means except one faction. Now listen, they asked: "Who is it?" He said:
What I am upon and my Companions. هي ما أنا عليه وأصحابي
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2641Da'if (Darussalam)
This is the second narration. The first narration said:
It is the Jama'ah. هي الجماعة
So there is no difference between the faction and the community, my brothers. These are many Arabic words that do not come as synonyms in meaning. For example, you say "lion" and you say "beast," you say "cat" and you say "kitty," and so on. "The sun rose," "the sun appeared," "the sun shone"—all these words are different, but the meaning is one. Especially when the word is a noble Prophetic word. The number of divisions: the Jews divided into seventy-one factions, the Christians into seventy-two, and the Muslims into seventy-three. All are in the Fire except one, which is the community, which is what the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) was upon. Therefore, the scholars have now agreed to say that the saved faction is the group, as we said earlier, it is the community, by the text of the hadith of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him). Therefore, the answer to this question is that there is no difference between the community, the faction, and the group, in addition to the question. Yes.
