The Shaykh spoke about the hadith of the sects.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : So among those well-known hadiths, as I mentioned earlier, is the hadith of the seventy-three sects, and none of you is unaware of it. It is his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
The Jews split into seventy-one sects, and the Christians split into seventy-two sects, and my Ummah will split into seventy-three sects, all of them in the Fire except one. They said: Who are they, O Messenger of Allah? He said: It is that upon which I and my Companions are.
We find that the answer of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) to those who asked about the saved sect coincides exactly with the previous verse:
and follows other than the way of the believers
[An-Nisa 4:115]
The believers referred to in this noble verse are the Companions, who are the first to fall under the generality of the verse:
and follows other than the way of the believers
[An-Nisa 4:115]
They are the path of the Companions of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him).
